Re: Rmoving Sanko Ring

I have been to college parties where ignorant kids will be messing with an empty keg trying to get the last of the beer out (usually happens when there is no more). Needless to say the same thing happens. They made a mess of the place. Just glad it wasn't my place haha.

Re: Hard Apple Cider

Yes you can use bakers yeast if you like. No you shouldn't have to change anything. Just keep in mind, the more alcohol you make, the less apple cider favor will be present. But in the end you can always add more Apple Cider / Apple Juice once fermentation is complete. Awesome thanks already mixed ...

Re: Who's got Chooks (chickens) ?

I had a couple of chickens, bout 6 of them and it seemed once every one of two months one of them would lay up for a while i would just coast them out and get the eggs. Thought it was cool when you fed them that egg layer food the eggs would get real thick shells and you could throw them up like 10 ...

My bloody marys are made with lime juice instead of lemon and celery salt instead of salt and pepper and I add a tip of a teaspoon of ground horseradish and garnish with either pickled brussel sprouts or a dill pickle spear and green olives. And I use lots of tobasco in mine, I love them HOT!!! Sou...

Might be doing this in the winter time. I am from florida and round here sweet tea is more popular than beer sometimes lol. So figured booze and tea hand in hand would be a pretty sweet combo.

got me thinkin about.....sweet tea

One of the hard cider recipes got me thinking about using sweet tea and doing the same thing. Just as the hard cider recipes, I guess you could distill or just leave it as a wine maybe. Was kinda wondering if anyone has tried this, might be a good idea or it might be crap. If no one has tried this i...

Redman is my favorite but beechnut and southern pride are good too as well as copenhagen long cut and skoal mint. Started dippin/chewing when i was 15 and for the most...

Yea I understand that. Off flavors come from stressing the yeast. I just figured its worth a try and maybe get a nice flavor since I know what baker yeast can do.

Stilling and doing everything leading up to getting the final product is great fun don't get me wrong. The best part in my opinion is the sittin around an ol' campfire with friends passing the jar around telling stories. Ahh can't wait for it to get cold.

I can say this, the window above a backalley whorehouse in a big city is not a good place for wild yeast. edit: But in all seriousness...if you happen to live in an asphalt jungle, full of cars, buses, trash, etc., it's probably best not to attempt a wild yeast starter from open air.
