Re: Bokakob EMERGENCY!!!!!!!
Sounds like scrubers too tightly packed and promoted flooding when the amount of reflux overwelmed any remaining air space within the column. Or you just had a simple boil over?..........Or both? I think you are on to something. I was monkeying with the scrubbers today. next run I'll repack ...

Bokakob EMERGENCY!!!!!!!
Hey all. Had my first mis hap today. Running my two inch bok and heard severe gurgling coming from the top. Watched it very closely and sure enough it ran over. I was in the first stage of letting the distillation, getting the column up to temp and running full reflux. I quickly shut off the propane...

Has distilling advanced that much in the five months that I've been away that a deephlemegator. Completely escapes me? That's what I get I guess...not keeping up with cuttin edge technologies and such. Makes. A bokakob sound prehistoric

Re: Lots of tails - fermentation question
Did we determine a cause for this? I had a similar problem over the summer. This batch sat for a couple weeks, undisturbed, after fermentation completed. I have never let a batch sit that long after completion. when I ran it, it was harsh tasting and had LOTS of tails. I live in a cold region and it...

I got the banjo burner. absolutely love it for every reason. seemingly infinite heat control, fits a 15.5gal keg perfectly and really really cranks out the heat. i go through about half of a 18 gal propane tank in a 7 hour run. got it from hotplates.com i believe.
