Here's a picture of a new Japanese vodka that just got introduced. It is made by one of our customers on an iStill 2000.

Re: Odin's gone wrong
Good addition Expat. Give it time. Like a good friend of mine said: nothing as difficult as adding some patience to a bottle. But add neutral first to lift the haze. Then let it settle.

Re: Polish Buffer/Stabilizer
What it does is quite simply this: it catches returning reflux from the main column. Since that reflux is at least once distilled, it is of higher purity than what's left in the boiler. By catching it before it returns to the boiler efficiency gains are made. Total system efficiency improves and som...

In my opinion and experience turbo's don't work well when other organics than sugar and water are introduced. They have a very narrow operating window. Ditch the turbo, would be my suggestion and use Fleischman's.

Re: Getting that boat?
Boating as the supreme zen experience. Today we did something different. Instead of using the boat to travel, we just took her out on the water, on to the lake, put the anker out, and had an afternoon of fun while swimming, talking, eating, drinking, and sun bathing. I thoroughly enjoyed the experie...

Re: What'd ya'll make today?
Distilled some neutral out of a turbo ferment that I started a year ago. Had to leave our holiday house early, last summer, but the sugar wines survived beautifully. Used the fermentation to test some new tech I have been working on for the better part of 8 months. And to create some likker for the ...

Re: Cold pitching yeast.
I have done many comparisons and like to keep things simple. Here's what works for me: Create a mash, let it cool down to fermentation temp, take the yeast and sprinkle it on top. It'll sink in slowly. No agitation. Works every time. As simple as it gets.

Re: Getting that boat?
That coffee was nice indeed! The day before yesterday we dropped our youngest daughter off for a week of leisure amongst those of her own age in Kecskemet. The missus and I then rode to Csaszartoltes, close to Hajos. A small village with 1,000 wineries. Let that sink in for a few seconds ... We had ...

We call that Central Station. A whole distillery of mashers, fermenters and stills is managed from one computer (or from the main still). Temp, pH, SG ... It was another very big project that I don't even want to put a number on. But we have it since close to a year now. It is part of the standard e...

It is a Croation shrimp dish actually. Bake some onions and garlic in oil, add loads of tomato paste, bring it to a boil, now add the shrimp and cook 'm. Ad parsley abbundantly just before you stop the boil. Pretty darn good! Yesterday we did a hike up Somloi Mountain. Walked some 6 miles in total. ...

Re: SD 240V Controller Pot: 50%=0, too sensitive
Potentiometers suck and that seems to be the problem here. They result in square/root functions being introduced, thus making a 0-100% scale worthless (and explaining the "nothing happens until 40% power" and "between 50 and 51.5% is running good or flooding"), by making it expon...
