I found some 2"foam pipe insulation at a place called the Big Blue Store appearently it's a chain store in the southern US. GREAT store to shop in at least for a man, propane gas manifolds and the like. I was likea kid in a candy store :lol: :lol:

One should also realize the difference between proof of alc and % of alc 100 Proof is still only 50% abv

I collect in glass, but the jug is sittin' in a large metal pan and the distillate I collect is cool. This makes me think again about yall that are usin' glass as a thumper. If yer mason jar thumper cracks and fails from heat, or pressure from the housin', or if it gets splashed with a cool liquid....

had to try out my new 100 qt BOP but didn't have a false bottom yet so i used it as a double boiler made up a 32 lt batch of corn and barley 80-20 cooked let it convert overnight good conversion added yeast and it's working away the only sugar used was to start the yeast (1 cup) i think i'll do this...

of those of us living in the southern US that have a BigLots Store handy i found some Brawney 100% pure cooper scrubers 2 for a dollar (i bought all they had) but I'm still using the ones from KMart so i haven"t tried these yet

............start off light around 6.5kg or so sugar, and should I want to up the final proof then put in more sugar... but SLOWLY or else it will foam everywhere.......... I put down another 100 litres of wash yesterday , using your above suggestion of 6.5kg Sugar per 25 litres water, per satchel ...

I really like how it waits till it's after the 45 to reduce the size of the tubing. it seems like less constriction in the vapor path, maybe i can rework mine which is similar.

actuall i use my time to clean the shop organize jars and jugs. although i did get overcome by carbon monoxide Sunday low volume of propane in the tank aparently it doesn't burn to clean when tank is low. Thank god for a carbon monoxide alarm

Out in the shed today with the air conditioner on it's 99 F outside, running a reflux run and the carbon monoxide alarm goes off son that will shake you up bigtime :shock: :shock:

i believe it says to add your backset to your next ferment not your distillate. add your distillate and next completed ferment togeather for your next spirt run

i just use a wet dish towel lay it on for awhile the dough soaks up the water and doesn't dry out before i'm ready to go to work cleaning up
