Recently tried to replicate "everclear", only able to get it up to 175`proof(87.5%). still, not too bad.

hey, good news... I got run down to only 13 hours.(15 Gal., collecting 3 gal. 50% low wines) also found old baby bottle with milimeters on it.

Made some 147 proof Peppermint Fire-Water a few years back. Fellow-alkys could not get enough fast enough. Not that dumb now days.

After doing a 15 hour stripping run and having been up all night, i was testing the over-all amount. Filled cylinder, turned to put hydrometer in and... yep, you guessed it, DROPPED the tube. Tried using American oak chips , heavy toast. let soak for 7-10 days. gave a nice, buttery taste, but had some astingentsy.(probably from the tannins). used Hungarian oak, medium plus on 1 gal. of 50%. let sit for 5 months. had nice brown color but tasted like liquid wood. probably should only let s...

Started out using 5 Gal. buckets, then scaled-up to a 30 gal. trash can.been running 15 gal. thin-mash. also started running 5 gal. molasses/rum wash`s. on 4th batch in just 6 day`s.

got blackstrap from local Bulk food store.Fg- was 1.028. after first run-through, topped up with 1/2Gal. molasses. G=1.080.will ferment until G drops to 1.000 or lower, saving about 1 gal. dunage. Molasses Wash, Fast Ferment

My wash consists of: 5 Gal.(US) tap water heated to 150`F, 1 Gal. Blackstrap Molasses, 1-Tablespoon(14g) nutrient mix(DAP -n-Fermaid K). Cooled to under 90`F. O.G. of 1.094,Damn stuff only took 36 hours to drop to F.G. of 1.018. I`ll run this through this week, then add more molasses (G=1.080 +/-). ...
