Re: Message in a bottle: the story continues!

I was so proud when I had the bottle even though my spirits may not have been up to par.(I liked em) I still (pun) get better all the time. I hope someone has it and it will make more rounds. If it comes down to it and that bottle has died....... R.I.P. bottle, and start a new one in it's memory! Po...

I made a really easy to use carbon filter out of the right material. It sits in the corner of a spare bed room covered in dust. I learned if you do it right you don't need it!

It's always had my vote for T & T. Ever since the first batch I made, I keep some in the freezer all the time. I may only drink it once a week but you won't catch me without some ready!

elektrosport, Thanks for the info. The cherry wood I have is from a wild cherry tree. It makes tiny cherrys that are no good to eat.

Re: Tomato paste alterative

The brand name was Pace and it had dehydrated garlic in it. Not sure how much. But the yeast loved the salsa. Not much of the flavor carried over but you can detect a hint of it in there. I did check it with a hydrometer. 1.070 was my starting point and it was below 1.0 at the finish only 9 days lat...

Tomato paste alterative

I have used tomato paste in my wash for a couple of years now as a nutrient for the yeast. I don't have any complaints about it, and I know it helps it go dry much faster than without. There is no taste that carries over as far as I can tell. But last week I was getting a wash ready and was about to...

Re: Jimbo's Wheat Flour AG Experiment

Well here is an update on what I was trying. The wheat flour sugarhead. It fermented out great and really dry. I let it clear in the cold. 19 days fermenting 2 days clearing in the cold. when I distilled it last weekend it smelled great. Just took my first taste tonight. All I can say is I will not ...

I used UPS and was lucky to have no problem. The reason I avoided the postal service is that would be a federal issue where with UPS it is just against their rules. My rule of thumb for packing would be if it will survive a two story fall......LOL

Two weeks ago I started a faux wheat whiskey (sugar head) and was going to run it today. Too many other things like naps and playing stupid games came up so it has another week to clear. It should be good. Fingers crossed.

Jimbo, I still have not made the step to doing an all grain. I will some day, but just too many irons in the fire right now. I am going to try using the wheat flour in place of the cereal that I use to make a faux wheat whiskey. Since I am just trying this out I my wife got me a couple of five pound...
