Well then, you might be overthinking it. I realise only too well that if you read everything about plated columns, it becomes confusing. Just make a four plate column, perf or caps, and put it to work. Plan it and make it. Semi modular would be my call but there are strong arguments for fully modula...

Might be an idea to read the entire flute talk column before you get started. Plates are easily made from annealed and flattened two inch pipe. Read the thread. Plan your job. Build it.

Grab a few feet of transport chain or similar. Drop it in ya keg with some soapy water.
Shake around till your arms are stuffed. Get your mate to shake till his arms are stuffed.
Rinse.

Finally! I have forty five litres of UJ low wines and a bit of backset from the last run. Running it thru my electric keg. Got a stainless kegomax still. First couple of runs i was getting 88%.
Then i upgraded the packing and put a centering ring ( copper reducer ) just below the cooling jacket.
Am now getting 95% every time.
