Re: Snuffy Smith has died.
Forgive my stupidity, but what are you referring to when you say "moonshiners"?

Undocumented, I guess if you want to be politically correct.

Re: Help with electric controller
Where exactly were you measuring your voltage, from neutral to the supply, or to the element?

Re: Bubble Cap-vs-Perf Plate
OD,
What about ease of operation, or even the build process itself? I've gone through both the 150+ pages of Flute Talk and also Magic Flute MkII and am undecided as ever. Do the valves added to MkII help?

Re: Sackett's Tinker Made Flute
You are making a Magic Flute 1? I'm undecided between 1 & 2. I haven't heard much about the results of running of running batches on #2; experimenting with the valves. Until I decide which version of Flute I'm going to build, I'll work on the pot. I've got the keg, heating element, and some part...

Since the bacon never goes in, it seems a win-win!

Re: Need help
As you state, it's a ratio. If you want a 1/4 size, then use 1/4 of everything in the recipe. You also don't need to run the whole wash at once. Do it in batches.

Re: what to do with 40 cans of pbr
My son buys PBR by the case and I find it decent; leaps and bounds better than the natty ice or coors lite his buddies bring over.
BTW, while in China I found variants of PBR; one labeled "Blue Cow pie Beer" and another other was "Black Beer" that was dark and stout, very good.
