Thump the hood and blow the horn before starting a car on a cold morning . I don't care that much about most cats , but radiators are expensive to replace .Cost my oldest daughter a grand last week .

Re: The liar's bench

Maybe I am a bit direct but if I think someone isn't listening to me I simply grab them by the arm and shake them a bit and ask if they are listening now. Seems to work pretty well. Come to think about it maybe that is why I live alone. Sometimes that's best . I'm sure that if I lived in close prox...

Lol, yeah been there done that too TB. Overall though we get along pretty good, she tells her friends I only have two faults;
1) I never listen to her
2) something else she was rattling on about.

That reminds me of a while back when I was younger and stuff was funnier, I would fart in bed and the wife would yell and leave or whatever. Long story short, I told her I could hit a fly on the ceiling with spit. She looked at me like I was an idiot so I hawked up a big one (made the sound) then p...

Re: The liar's bench

I had a friend that built a pig trap to catch wild pigs on his friends ranch. We went to check it one afternoon and it had a big pig and a couple of small piglets , probably 20 pounds or so. Gary shot the big pig for meat and went in to catch those little ones to raise for meat as well. Let me tell...

Re: On or off the grain?

A $50 mop bucket is cheaper that a BOP big enough to cook and sparge 50 pounds of grain and water. No cook mashing on grain and squeezing with a mop bucket and strainer bags doesn't have to be messy. I ferment on grain, pump off the clear into the boiler. While thats stripping, put the mop bucket n...

I'm 70 and crippled . I built wheeled carts to accommodate my 32 gallon fermenters submerged in 44 gallon Brutes as water jackets . Siphon and bailing by hand as needed + squeeze the mash . Large ferments and quick distilling . My setup yields 12.5 gallons of clear for the boiler and 12.5 gallons of...

Wash boiler that many old timers turned into very unsafe stills . Galvanize , lead solder , other nasties . Keep as a curio . DO NOT try to repurpose as a still .
