Re: What is everyone drinking?

Jimbo love the lable. Big fan of the double A's, B's C's and D's Bring on the Hawks.... Big fan of original 6 match ups Old Tyme Hockey!!!! I might have a little sniff of some Jimbo's brews left over. Being stranded in India didn't help my drinking agenda at all. I'll tap those reserves tomorrow for...

Re: Notable and quotable

It's like giving a bunch of workers an unlimited supply of crack. And telling them to work until its gone. Sure you will get a bitch of work out of them. But how much of it will be worth a shit? on turbo yeast haha! that might just be the perfect analogy I wish Someone would give everyone that work...

Re: Message in a bottle: the story continues!

Jimbo, I got to read your review the other night but I just got around to finding time to repsond. I appreciate the honest review. I'm on your page with the Rum and Whiskey drinking. I like to drink whiskey straight but I do not enjoy rum straight. I do however enjoy Rum mixed with Cola or Ginger......

Re: Rum sugars, brown or pure cane....

I could be wrong (correct me if I am), but I think you would have to boil that molasses from TSC for around 15-20 minutes and let the sludge settle out, only racking the liquid off the top. Hope that helps. I used the whole gallon, dunder, water, nutrient, DAP, EC1118, acid blend in a 5 gallon wash...

Re: Message in a bottle: the story continues!

Well folks, I do have the album. I left it on my shop bench while I was packaging the bottles up. Must have got covered up and I missed it going in to the box. How would you like me to get these parts back together. Last I knew GA Flatwoods had the bottle and it was. Scheduled to go to Husker. Shoul...

Re: Rum & Oak

I was always under the impression that rum was aged in used bourbon barrels? Maybe I'm wrong? I like to age my black rum on a heavy toasted, non charred oak. My gold rum I age on a light toast oak. I make a rum essence that I got from buccaneer bob. Mixed 1/2 fresh Dunder 1/2 high proof rum and then...

Oh shit!!!! There's no album. Damn it, I packaged that at work. I must have left it on my bench. I will post something when I get back into the office and I'll send it along to who ever has it. Damn I feel bad now. I want that to be back with it's bottle. I know it was in to box when I got it so it'...

Re: Experienced corn Malters WANTED!

It took me a couple tries to get good results. I used a 5 gallon bucket with about 12-15 1/4" holes in the bottom. Put a piece of burlap in the bottom. Dump in 10 pounds of corn and fill that bucket with water twice a day. I put a clean towel on top of the corn. 2-3 days and it had a real nice ...

I'm kinda surprised those are the ones you selected. I almost didn't even put the 1st gen corn whiskey in the package. I thought it was under oaked but I liked it enough. I think my personal favorites were the toasted Hungarian oak and the gold spice rum.

Don't know? Not an English major I'm an engineer... But I'm pretty sure you guessed that already. Poor grammar makes for laughs, poor math skills makes planes crash.

I am hoping to finish this Christmas celebration with an ample boosom though. Think she's gearing up to go to bed soon.

Re: Destructive Distilling for liquid smoke

Interesting. I was thinking of trying to make a smoke injector into my still for smoked stout whiskey. I saw Derek Bell doing something with this, from Corsair distillery. Right now it's just another project I don't have time for. Interesting thoughts though.

Re: Sometimes I wonder about putting a bit of oil in the pot

I add a small amount of oil to my rum run to keep it from foaming up. I've never had any problem with oily copper of off flavors. I also try to not over fill my boiler to reduce the risk of foam puking up into the column. I usually don put more than 12 gallons in my 15 gallon boiler along with low h...

Don't matter how many points you have in the regular season as long as you make playoffs.

If the hawks and b's make it this year we should get together and sample some drinks and punches

I'm doing the same now Dan. Didn't have time to build one.... didn't want to buy one.... so I ground that shit up into a smoothie and fremented it. Took some work and well a while to ferment, but the fermentation process really breaks all the pulp down well. Can't wait to get to the stillin.

Continued..... #1 jar, Spiced Rum. Color: Amber very much the color of Captain resting in a bottle. Smell: this is more like a Genie in a bottle. This one packed a punch. deep spice nose to this on that hits you as soon as your pour. Very unique... far more scent than the Captain or Sailor Jerry.......
