Re: Free Corn and Rye, What To Do

Been doing some reading... A lot of reading. Took two pounds of the rye, and I'm trying my hand at malting it. If successful, I'll probably go pick up a bag of cracked corn at TSC, and give NcHooch's recipe a try. More than likely, I'm going to use the corn for some Uncl Jessie's. I have no way to c...

Re: Free Corn and Rye, What To Do

You're stealing your baby's food for hooch??! LOL. She's almost two, now. She never really liked the Gerber. But... She was good cover for when I had to go pick up supplies. Thanks for the suggestions. Work was crazy, and couldn't respond till now. UJSSM was definitely at my forethought, for choice...

Free Corn and Rye, What To Do

Hey guys... I could use some quick advice. I know I haven't really posted in awhile, but I do check in from time to time. Things have pretty much been status quo. Due to the baby and the new house(1year in it now), I've been making nothing but Gerber runs. Quick and easy. Well, we had a customer, th...

I run a Cobra 29LTD with Bluetooth, in my Trailblazer, every day. I love being able to take phone calls, with it. I have a 3ft firestick with custom mount I made at work. Looks almost factory. Opened it up and turned up the wattage a little, and also did the dead key mod. A lot of guys on the highwa...

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?

Picked both of these two scores up from work, lately. Both free! The grey cabinet will be nice for all kinds of little do-dads and organization. It also allows me to use my bottom box as a roll around with my most needed tools and a small work top. The vise is a Wilton 1750, manufactured May of 1978...

Re: Movies You Can't Watch and Why

The Notebook. Before you judge, read on... That movie, while I have nothing in common with any of the main characters, symbolizes everything I strive for to be for my wife. To be that devoted to one person is absolutely amazing to me. I can't watch it with other people, but will watch it by myself. ...

Don't know what Morning glories are good for - if anything; but marigolds are useful in the garden to repel aphids and nematodes. https://toadstoolponds.wordpress.com/2007/12/07/why-plant-marigolds-in-your-vegetable-garden/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="no...

Re: Gardening

I'm giving the gardening thing another go,for a few reasons. I've always been one that liked the idea of gardening, but never actually liked doing it. It probably goes back to childhood, and being forced to work long hours hoeing, weeding, etc. Well, as I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate t...

We don't make big deal out of it, but I always do something a little special. One year, I made her a dozen roses from the pages of one of her favorite books, Pride and Prejudice, from a spare copy. She also has a thing for Fiestaware, and salt and pepper shakers. So... I got her the range top shaker...

Re: What's wrong with this plan?

My advice would be to make the Boka head a separate section, apart from the main part of the column. I originally did that for ease of storage. Then, a house move made it a blessing in disguise. I couldn't run my Boka the way I previously did. I also made a pot still head with shotgun condensor, for...

I ran the numbers on electric, awhile back. A 10 hour run with my Boka(5k element on 240) was comparable to 4-5 loads of laundry run through the dryer. Now that I also have a pot still setup, on the same keg, it has to be even less. About a 3-3.5hr run, on one charge. Never noticed a difference on t...

I hate inconel. It runs like water when you weld it. I think you got ripped off on the washers. I don't know about that... Seeing as I have no welding experience. LOL. We also get the stems, etc. Mainly just the parts for rebuilding. We don't weld any of it. Same kind of valve I posted about here, ...

Re: It's not too expensive, you're just too cheap!

Got another good one in today... In my hand, I hold 20 washers, and 5 springs, which totals up to about $1005 worth of material. $44 per washer, and $25 per spring. All made to manufacturers specs, and from a material called inconel. These are parts used in rebuilding valves we sell.
