Re: Newbie question; best use for corn mash leftover after squeezing
I've read that deer normally give birth to a single fawn unless food is plentiful then they birth twins. It's no coincidence that my local deer have been birthing twins every year since I began distilling.

I want to reuse them, but don't remember what Great Grandaddy Frank did with them. Any clues?
Well, I didn't know Frank but what a lot of folks do is add some sugar to the used grains and make a sugarhead.

Re: Chemical smell
The adhesive comes off. In the other words, the backing has an adhesive that peels away from the ptfe. The adhesive is on the backing not the PTFE ? So, the adhesive is NOT intended to hold the PTFE in place ? That doesn't make sense to me, from a product standpoint, but you're free to use whatever...

Any clues where I am getting this chemical smell and taste from?
Unless you changed them out, it's probably from the rubber and/or silicone gaskets and seals.

I thought I'd be clever but after scrolling through the first 50 pages of "Time Detective Gallery" I still hadn't found the photo. Then I tried the websites search function ... nuthin'.
I did see some cool photos, though.

I can test this using my current controller but will need to open the case dig around in the wiring. I was able to test this using my current controller and, yes, two conductors through the coil was measured accurately. You could also tie the two together internally and put your coil on the resulti...

Ammeter induction coil
Question: will a digital ammeter read the current accurately if two (2) conductors are passed through the induction coil but with only one conductor active at any time ? I’m not sure the CCVM is the right build for me or not. I wonder if a standard VM design will be a better choice.
It's a short path from CCVM to VM.

Re: MASSIVE grain sale - Pacific Northwest
I bet that light-roast oat malt would make a great whiskey. I bet that same oat malt would make a perfectly fine vodka/neutral. I haven't met a grain yet that didn't make something drinkable. However, when ordering 2,000 pounds of grain I think you've crossed over from being a home distiller.

Re: How to connect the ends of CSST
Full disclosure: I've installed one (1) pair of 1/2" fittings.
That said, I would not think it would be water-tight due to the oversize of the retaining ring. Unfortunately, a quick search returns few 3/8" fittings for sale.

so what can you reccomend is there a fitting that I can install to this CSST ? CSST fittings are easy to install. I just did a pair myself recently. Of course, getting them may be an issue if you're not in the US. https://images.thdstatic.com/productImages/871d01f5-c58d-4216-9cf9-1b750574ef7d/svn/b...
