Re: Ethanol additive or homemade help
ok as far as an additive...to me seems like the only way to boost ethanol content is to add ethanol... now as far as build a still or buy premade fuel.??? if I were you id start with figuring out just how much ethanol you need to produce to meet your needs. vs just buying the fuel. that will help yo...

yep you pack the whole column. just leave enough space empty below the bottom slant plate so that the boiling distillate doesn't splash up into the pool your collecting from.

Welcome!
You came to the right place to learn everything you need to know about this wonderful hobby! If you haven't already check out Crankys spoon feeding, as a start.
As far as what still... I would start by deciding what you like to drink first, then build your still to produce it.

Well I found a solution that works for me, its kinda diy but ill post it up in case it helps somebody else. First I went on amazon and bought a digital temp controller like this https://www...

what really amazes me about this process is the fact that if its scaleable , we can use renewable energy sources at times when their producing more power than needed to suck co2 directly out of the atmosphere or say from the smokestack of a coal power plant, to make a usefull fuel while REDUCING the...

yeah I agree that if all they were interested in was busting a still they would have acted right away. Years ago I owned my own car repair shop in a small town. well my helper was involved in some shady pot dealings with an undercover fed agent. I also noticed you said your heating it with gas. looking at the picture I would highly recommend extending the output pipe at the bottom.. with some copper tubing of course.. so that your flammable likker isn't pouring out right above an open flame.

Re: Planning a thumper build
Anyone see any problems with using 3/4" from keg boiler to keg thumper? It'll be single opening type plumbing. So 3/4" inside 2" at thomper neck. Reason I was thinking 3/4" instead of 1" is cost, but also that is the inner diameter of my condenser anyway. Looking for suggest...

Here in the states the anti smokers are eating away at smokers rights little by little. Wont be long till having a cig is a bigger crime than having drugs. I'm going to be learning to grow my own tobacco this summer. its gonna be a necessity pretty soon.

I agree python, education is the key.. the "news people" seem to be lumping methanol and ethanol into the same basket?? well the kids are still gonna drink .. why not let them know which one is deadly?? that's like lumping soft drinks and battery acid together in the same group. Similar?.....

Maybe you could keep a supply of used grain husks around, and if theres any rust on the mill just run that through it a few times to.... sand... it down before you actually run your new grain...?
