Washing machine might be viable if a man were to evenly distribute the grains in the tub before starting the cycle.

Just my 2 cents.

I guess I'm lucky. If I need more height to run my 3" CCVM I simply move it outside on the deck on Wednesdays & Sundays when the neighbors are in church. All day affair for them. :D

I enjoy draft beer quite a bit and recently got into flavored spirits after making basic 'shine for many years but now I rarely touch the stuff. Always some on hand for those that stop by the house. Heck, I give the stuff away.

Don't tell. Don't sell.

Boy oh boy did I mess up good this time ! I left my beloved 3" CSST VM column outside under roof but pushed my luck this time in doing so as I've done this before with no ill effects. Fast forward : The inside of the column has a fairly significant coating of green gunk/crust so I bought a 3&qu...

Re: Aquarium heaters - yeast stress with direct wash contact

Thanks, TB. I have a couple of those heaters in the 3/400 watt range somewhere around here. Might give it a try.

Usually have an 8 gallon UJ going 24/7 year 'round in my smallish chest freezer fermentation box.Works very well. Just enough to have fun with.

Good day to ya, Sir.

I use a 32 gallon Brute nested inside a 44 gallon Brute for a fermenter . I wire the handles of both cans together to prevent the inner can from floating up . line the inner can with a 50 gallon clear garbage bag and stretch another over the top to exclude oxygen/ nasties . Re: Chest freezer fementer?

I briefly toyed with that idea but killed it for the same reasons mentioned above. Now use mine as a chamber only with a controller (Inkbird) as well as a ceramic heater with a variable control when the Inkbird is pulling duty elsewhere.

Good luck.

Been using this heater in my old chest freezer/fermentation box.Amazing how well t maintains a consistent temp as verified by my lab grade therm. The only caveat is the variable therm setting which is reached by trial and error but once reached it does not vary. Sign me happy as a clam. https://www....
