Re: A Quick Way to Find Reflux Ratio
Any chance we could get an expanded version of the kw table?
I can extend some lines, but there is a small curve to it. Adding a 5% line going up to 30lph would be very cool.
Edit, for completeness add plain water?
Thanks Al

Condenser question
Its part of basic stilling that in a condenser, flow rate will have a happy spot to suit the power it needs to knock down the vapour. A needle valve helps greatly as you can flow too much coolant and vapour bypasses the condenser, huffing/puffing etc, laminar flow blah blah (ahh the fun times lols) ...

Get in touch with your local beer clubs, the ones around here do group buys and ive occasionally gotten some great prices, under 70c usd per pound for basics and about 20% more for exotics when you buy it by the bag. Production quantity comes down to what size barrel your trying to fill. I hate that...

Mine is the second pic of Yummy's post I never run it like that anymore, it was done that way for ballance and to make the overkill 6' liebig not hit the ground, but these days (when i use it) I just use a short riser and support the liebig independently at a different angle. I have added many tricl...

Just to throw some water on the fire after its gotten away... That 3 loop element could easily by hooked up with 2 switched loops and a much smaller ssr on the third. But wheres the fun in that right? (Admittedly way harder to wire at the element end, it's pretty tight in those cups) 50amps... I wis...

Just a little nit pick of your process, most of the vitamins your adding get well and truly torched at boiling (and some far below that even), perhaps grind them up and pitch just before the yeast?
Edit, fermaid lists pitching temp at 65-67f, you may be killing that too

Sooo... A 9kg/20lb propane bottle can only give off around 60k btu of gas, when near full. This reduces with emptiness and ambient temperature. Unless you want a manifold for multiple bottles or have a big bottle (45kg/100lb) or town supply handy, this is your limit. You will be lucky to achieve muc...

I would think some foreshots or feints added in a low concentration would alleviate that. A bit of bleach?

I have 3x pro caps in a 4" 3 plater
The downcommers easily exceeds the flow characteristics of the riser/cap
I can only flow 8lph through the 3x3 caps with reflux off vs 15 as a pot still
Edit, pouring a jug from the top of the column would be in litres per minute not hour
