I have used flattened solid copper romex wire to wrap around the ferrule and hold it centered.

I believe it is calcium hydroxide for masa harina.
I’ve seen recipes several different ways. We just buy it already made, so I may be wrong.

I would do 20 to 25 gallon ferments. That way you could do several strips and then one spirit run. Do you have any pictures of your setup?

I would move the condenser further away from the column so it’s easier to catch the distillate and the condenser doesn’t draw all of the heat from the column. Just some thoughts.

I use a liebig or a shotgun, but I circulate water from a 55 gallon barrel or a 330 gallon tote with a small pump. I use the tote for longer runs.

Rhizopus oryzae is in the angel liquor making product. Koji is Aspergillus.

You can always rerun it or try aging it with some wood.
