Old Blue, It isn't a technique. Rather more like a repair job. The wash got stuck since I didn't add any nutrients or energizer. A little Geritol Tonic, tomato paste, and some "finishing yeast" among other things helped finish off the job. Hookline, I appreciate the info. For my next wash I am going...

Hookline, I'm not actually scared of trying the egg whites, just not on my first batch. It got stuck and then I fixed it, it seems to be fine now, just cloudy so I don't want to jepordize it since I am on a time limit. I will give it a shot next time. Wineo, what about burning the uncleared yeast an...

Of course that also depends on the type of reflux still you have to begin with; like Bugapat pointed out about the height. Some of the reflux columns have the condenser directly in the top of the column. I would think that you might have trouble getting a distinct seperation of the heads. I would ap...

Lol. So true Husker. You should try convincing her that your projects are attempts to condition your mind for the hard work that lies ahead in winning the bread. That you need these projects to be able to focus on the tasks at hand!! It's worth a try anyway. They always see through the crap though, ...

It looked to me like a "brink of the new design" prototype to me. Kinda like a new age techno hippy version of the good old type! :D What is cool is that as long as you don't prevent the proper flow of vapors or condensing liquid you can pretty much make the connecting tubes look anyway you want. Yo...

Thanks guys. So I checked the two washes this morning. They were no longer bubbling at all, completely dead. The temp was a steady 78 deg. F all week. I was worried until I did a simple smelling of the air through the hole. It smelled like the most alcoholic yummy light beer I have ever smelled. :P ...

I understand where he is coming from...reading and not finding the answers. I have been reading for about 2 and a half months now for about 5 hours each day (I work really hard at work, huh? :P ) The search function is great but you can't search for a complete sentence to narrow your search down. If...

Today I made myself nervous. I am a long time reader and first time poster. I would like to just take a small second and say thanks to all you experienced people out there who are sharing your knowledge of this fine art with us novices. Without you guys there would be a lot more guess work. I built ...
