Re: The liar's bench

Some people just can't stand prosperity . Local stock buyer (4th generation in the family and an honorable man) Is watching the Ohio feed lots being devastated by the kill plant shutdowns . To help his market and theirs , he is going to run a stock trailer to Ohio this coming week and haul back fini...

Re: The liar's bench

Re: All you mash mop wringers

3 gallon paint strainer bags work well for me and SRD in a mop wringer . 3 to 4 quarts of grain in the bag , squeezed and turned 3 times . Works faster than you would think once you establish a rhythm . Flatwoods sent me some of his filter material to try . I had quicker and more positive results wi...

Re: All you mash mop wringers

I ferment on the grain then give a quick squeeze but nothing crazy. I'll sparge and squeeze again. I use a clam pot which holds about 5 gallons a shot. I put a bucket under the spout to catch the good stuff and put the grains in a grain bag in the clam pot. I fill up a 5 gallon carboy and this sits...

Re: 15.5 gallon beer keg pot still question

I have a large domed cap on mine that gives me exceptional headspace . I established my limit at 12.5 gallons with incremental increases . Normal keg , using the sanke outlet , I would start at 8 gallons of clean wash and work up from there to establish my limit . Depends on how much your ferment is...
