Re: Gaskets

Just googled it and they say:
Made primarily of Teflon, grilling mats are easy to wipe clean. Some are even dishwasher safe.
If that is the case it might work. My homemade gaskets are 8’ diameter made from cardboard and teflon tape.

Re: Birdwatchers Sugar Wash Questions

Yummy that is also my favorite link to winding a coil as well. I haven’t made one for years but used to wind them for other members after they got frustrated doing it themselves. I filled the tube with fine sand used for sandblasting. I tried the other methods and water if you’re not careful would c...

Re: Birdwatchers Sugar Wash Questions

Birdwatchers is an easy recipe, but before you go out and spend money on something that you might outgrow in a year. I would do a little more reading on the forum. If you list what your thinking about purchasing other members can probably give input on the still.

In another thread I mention an Amazen Pellet Tube to add to your smoker for cold smoking. Below is a picture of the one I use. I like buying Turkey Breasts already cooked from Costco and cold smoking it in my smoker. You can also use it in an outdoor BBQ.

Nice write-up! We have several recipes on the forum that use oranges. When just collecting the orange peel without the pith I use a zester similar to the one pictured below.

Hail yesterday, currently 8 F with a windchill factor that makes it feel like a -1. Heavy winds yesterday not as bad today, we have a ferry crossing through the islands to Vancouver island today and in the past with the heavy winds some of the scheduled ferries were cancelled.
