I like to think she runs better than it looks .. I am well pleased with the performance , next run I will take some notes and post them ..I especially like the gate valve control , easy to adjust , and holds rock solid , the LM rig does require adjustments during the run seems due to the needle valv...

to me its tasteless , just blah .. I guess .. I always use it to cut neutral with .. to me its just cleaner ..with neutral im shooting for clean as I can possible achieve ..others opinion may vary .. works for me ..

I would give WPOSW a try . Doing couple passes through a pot still and its about as neutral as you will find coming from a pot IMO. follow the directions to the Letter .. some have tried to improve this but I think over the years that he has developed this recipe It would be hard to get it any bette...

yes expensive ..that was why I suggested maybe having someone build one , along with a keg and a good rig .. I would still think you would have less money in one that you or someone builds for you .. would make life much easier .. and far more productive .

welcome to the site Jester , the 5 l outfits are on the small side of things .. and Im my opinion would make the learning curve a little more difficult than need be .. referring to the cuts , ect.. not to mention the amount of product you would end up with .. which would be very little single runnin...

I use this for my corn malt ,, this one I got from ebay its a Chinese knock off of a corona I think its called around 35.00 bucks USA free shipping .. we use it here to wrap ducts for heat pumps.. we call it bubble wrap insulation , most any HVAC supply house should carry it ..think lowe's and maybe home depot may have it as well..Nice Job on the rig BTW . I like the ease of cleaning you have incorporated into it ..

I operate much in the same manner you as you DrTorque, I have a 55 gallon plastic barrel I fill, then once the temp starts getting too warm for my liking , I redirect my line from the condenser outlet to another container and replenish my 55 gallon again with fresh water ( well water in my case) .. ...

I have used a table spoon of black strap Molasses to a gallon to darken rum down ... A little goes along way very easy to make it too dark.. I like this over the burnt sugar ..

I would make it close to 48 as possible .. and still have room for condenser , 48 inches of nicely packed column works very well .

I found that the a box fan on a table with grain about an inch thick seems to work better than the clothes dryer , i put about 7 pounds in a pillow case tied it shut and ran it with no heat ... worked great to remove the roots but the table fan was much faster at drying .. and all that pounding in t...

freezer cant keep up ... you will be appling more heat than the freezer can recover from....barrel or bucket with a pond pump seems to be the most common method .

thank you for the kind comments guys, I look at it as a project as something that most here could build without much of a problem IF they were willing to sacrifice the time and had the patience . I was pleased with the end result, But if I did another it would be a little better as would another one...

some copper mesh nicely rolled and placed in the center of the coil, from the bottom . makes it work even nicer...
