Pot or Reflux... That is the Question

Post by MuleKicker »

Ok, there has been some talk of people using a reflux collumn for whiskey. Ian Smiley says its the only way to go in his book "Making Pure Corn Whiskey". I have about 8 gal of UJSM low wines that I need to run today. Do I run it through the pot or try my luck with the reflux. In the book it talks about using the reflux valve to maintain a head temp around 92C (where as making neutral it is 78.3c) for a longer hearts run. Wondering if I give this a whirl, or go with the trusty old pot still. That is the Question!
