distilling a nuetral on a pot still??

Ive noticed that quite a few small craft distilleries are making vodkas on regular old pot stills, yes they are much larger than our scale but even going larger the flavors etc are still going to carry through, and people tasting they're vodkas are claiming they are better than the big name high dollar vodkas, is this possible? Could you make the absolute best vodka from a pot still?

I'm pretty sure Wino's sugar wash was done on his pot still. Cuts, clearing, good ferment. It's possible.

Tito's vodka is a corn mash distilled 5 times in a pot still. And from the reviews I've seen its up there with the best. I want to try it.

The answer is yes - but it is a different style of vodka.

The way I look at it is this:

If you want a pure tastless "neutral" vodka for mixing or as a base for other products, then the column is the way to go. It is also the best tool for extracting any remaining ethanol from feints from a prior run.

However, if you want a high quality sipping vodka for drinking neat, chilled, or over ice than the pot still is the tool. This vodka will have a residual flavour and a mouthfeel that is distinct and is based on the grain that was used.

I just want to make a slight correction here,,,neutral has no flavor at all (other than alcohol)
vodka can have a slight flavor but not enough to be recognized.
