I store my dry distiller's yeast in quart jars, with the lid screwed on tight, but I just ordered 600 grams of dry Safale05, would it be OK to store it in the same fashion.?? I'm going to start using 05 for my bourbon, and will also use it for my beer. What say yee ole wise ones ???

Re: Dry Yeast Storage
Cool and dry.
If you have one of those dessicant packs they pack with electrical equipment, put it into the jar when you seal it up. Keep the jar in a cool (I don't mean "jazzy" either) place, preferably out of direct sunlight.

I vacuum bag mine and store it in the fridge.

Re: Dry Yeast Storage
Thanks for the replies guys. I've been around longer than most of you folks have been alive, but wasn't sure about storing this dry yeast. Beer can have funny off flavors if the yeast isn't right, so I want to be careful.
Thanks again
