Bottles

Post by Whiskey11 »

I like to buy some glass bourbon flasks for bottling some of the stuff for gifts etc in the future. Plenty of places online, but shipping is a killer.

Is there a better way?

You can sometimes catch a clearance sale that helps out a little bit at this place. I got some Awesome thick "Bar top" bottles for $1 ea. 750ml. They were reg $3 or $4.

Have you checked at local thrift stores? Often you can buy complete decanter sets for next to nothing. Plus, almost always the prices are “negotiable”.

What about checking with a local bar...where they throw away their empty bottles. They (may) recycle, but they’ll often gladly let you take what you need.

Clear wine bottles & tasting corks by the case at the home brew stores. About $1.50 apiece. Then some Avery labels and you are done.

🎱 The struggle is real and this rabbit hole just got interesting.
Per a conversation I had with Mr. Jay Gibbs regarding white oak barrel staves: “…you gotta get it burning good.”
