Mine cools off to 185 proof on a single slow run as most probably would. Is it worth the hassel to do two runs with these kind of results or am I missing something here?

First run ever with my Boka and I used this wash. Ran it nice and slow, took about 8 hrs.. Ended up with 1 Liter and about 2 pts. of 172 proof with nice clear spirits. So not sure why someone would strip it. :P

People strip it because it tastes a little cleaner and because running a reflux takes all day.
I strip and strip and strip until I have 50 liters of 40% because stripping takes almost no time or effort and then I spend one Saturday a couple of times a year running the reflux.

I've tried both ways and found, that for me, stripping the wash before a spirit run gives better results. Other people will have different set-ups and will get different results using the same recipe. Sometimes i get different results with the same recipe.

I'm making a wash using the 80L recipe. Added water (21 gal.), paste (24 oz)., juicefrom 3 lemons, sugar (40 lbs.) and my sg is 1.050. Does this mean I should add more sugar to reach 1.090?

On edit: Never mind. I forgot to adjust for temp...

Yes I would have added more sugar but if she is working leave her alone now.

My heads were in the 130 proof range but got a good solid liter of 172 and my tails were still up there, just got tired and quit for the night.
