Stopping in middle of run?

Post by 1131morg »

I was wondering if you can stop in the middle of a run and then fire it back up, say, next day without any problems. If so is it as easy as just turning off your heat and walking away and then firing it back up ?

No problem.

Reflux column:
1. Turn off heat.
2. Wait till temp drops below 60*C at the top of the column.
3. Turn off coolant.
Re-starting the next day is the same as your first start, except the further into the run you are the shorter the stabilization period required.

Pot still:
1. Turn off heat.
2. Wait till the drips stop.
3. Turn off coolant.
