hi guys been thinking its warmed up in the uk so want to get stilling.
now ive gotten a metal fire extinguisher i was warned off from using to distill as it contains plastic inside.
so i figured why not take the fire extinguisher and use it as a wood burner its got no nozzle so thought abit deeper and instead of an electric element going inside the keg would having a copper probe attached to the burner and capped off inside the keg work?so the heat would go into the copper tube and heat the keg internally from the neck of the extinguisher?kind of like a cheap copper internal wood fired element?
sorry if this is a stupid post but intregued if its been done before or what style of heating this would be called if it has.
is this a new idea or not?

I am not sure I understand your design correctly.
What I see before my eyes is the cilinder of the extinguisher standing upright with a fire in it. On top of it a copper chimney which vents the smoke and the heat through a boiler filled with wash.
I think making an efficient woodstove takes more than that.
And why work with wood when you have a reliable supply of natural gas?

no i think thats more along the lines of a steam boiler heater.
sorry my explination is a bit strange let me try again.
lay the extinguisher on its side cut the base off partially so i can add in wood or coals use the neck which has a collar to fit a capped copper pipe that would go into the keg side (like an electric element would) to act as an element and heat inside of of the keg rather than on the outside of the keg so its more of a direct internal heat transfer to the wash inside the keg.

Ah. If I remember my boilers; a Cornish boiler.
A big fire tube inside the big water tube.
Would have, I suppose, been used in the Cornish mines to power the pumps used to pump water from the mines.

Sorry, I've been drinking and not sure what your asking.
Do you want to build a steam boiler,
out of a fire extinguisher that has a plastic liner
And have fire tubes for the heat transfer
