What is the shelf life of either product? Last time i did strawberry pd i noticed it got cloudy.
Also, would either of these work when paired with UJSSM. I have 15 gallons collected from strip runs to run through a spirit. Thanks

How long did it take till it got cloudy? You probably answered your own question....Tito wrote:What is the shelf life of either product? Last time i did strawberry pd i noticed it got cloudy.
I don't see why not...except for the flavor of the UJ itself. Typically panty droppers use a neutral base, but if you like the flavor of the UJ, then what's to lose by using it to make a panty dropper (if you have to). Personally, I'd prefer the UJ on wood for a whiskey-like product. YMMVTito wrote:Also, would either of these work when paired with UJSSM. I was not sure if that was common? It was my first time and i only strained it a few times from what i remember. Not a big drinker so most of my stuff is just sipped on and didnt want to waste any product. But i would assume if you took the fruit out after say a week, strained it many times through a fine strainer or what not to remove all solids it would last a long time, but then again im a newbiew and dont know shit. Just windering what other more experienced ppl thought.

I make a lot of fruit macerations and a UJSSM sloe "Gin" tastes just as good as a Rum one or a Gin one. The flavour of the base spirit tends to get lost in the final taste of the product. Hawthorn, raspberry, apricot, - it all works the same.

I haven't had any clouding form in my macerated spirits. But my processes may be better controlled than yours. So, your shelf life likely will be different than mine, i.e. - YMMV.Tito wrote:I was not sure if that was common?...Just windering what other more experienced ppl thought.
If you don't consume it fast...then make smaller batches...so it doesn't have to sit around so long.
Do you store your panty droppers in the refrigerator?
