Wash in the still time.
Hi all.
Can't see any problem with this but thought I would check anyway. Is there any problem with leaving a wash that's just been transferred from the fermenter to the still and leaving it overnight before distilling the next morning? Have to do car shuffles etc and would like to be ready early without waking everyone up All openings would be sealed up for the night and expecting around 2 degrees Celsius overnight.
Thanks in advance.
Mick.

Charge it up the evening before and light it up the next day . Whatever organizims that grow overnight will sterilize out when you apply heat .

That sounds ok, I need to get organized anyway....

If it's a proper copper still, the acids will be eating your copper. If it's one of them cheapo stills made out of SS, no worries.

Give it a good shaken to suspend all solids that have settled.

Another problem, had to abandon the run after about 20 minutes, wash got warmed up to 30 or 40 degrees then left again overnight, would this be a problem?
Re: Wash in the still time.
If you have aerated it while transferring, acetic acid bacteria will be having a party with your alcohol, so don't leave it too long. Agitate it before you restart or you may get some burn on.
Re: Wash in the still time.
it's been 24 hours? if there's any doubt at all I have no problem dumping it.

No doubt, just stir it up and run it.
