First Sugar Wash Run

Post by liqrlkr »

Ran my sugar wash through my still this weekend and had a pretty good run. I only saved three 8 ounce jars in the middle of the run for later enjoyment. Not sure this is going to be the best tasting stuff though. This pretty much is my fourth cleaning run and the copper is definitely CLEAN. I have Cchoochs (SP) Bourbon recipe fermenting and should be ready to run this weekend. I did oak one of the jars of sugar wash just to see what it would turn out like.

Plain sugar shine is best achieve by diluted to an overall abv of 20% at a purity of 93 to 95%.. or a double spirit dilute in the 35%.. plain sugar shine are best for apple pie or other favours such as store bought essences..

Well I finally tasted my sugar wash that I ran a while back. It has been sitting on oak since July 20. My friend and I both tasted it and it is at least a "fair" tasting drink for being as simple as it was to make. I think I will make it again and turn into an apple pie drink. It sure shined up the still.
