Distill before fermentation is complete

Post by Gaffatron »

hey all,

I have a TPW on at the moment and we are going away for a lads weekend this weekend and I want to put the T500 column still on tomorrow night but its gravity is sitting at 1.01 at the moment besides from the possibility of it spewing would it just be the fact that I would get less yield?

might add it has been fermenting for 2 weeks already

Run it.

But don't advertise to all your pisshead friends (and their friends ad infinitum) that you are the hero that has a still and can make cheep likker. Yeehaa.

Yeah, it's fine. If you are worrying about scorching/spewing, just start slow.

Next time try syphon into the still first then degassing. Leaves all the crap in the fermenter
