aging wood.

Post by evilbofh »

I have found it hard to find oak or maple in Australia and was wondering if I could use smoking chips from the bbq store for aging spirits
like this one?

I suppose so but where is Aus are you? Any home brew store shout stock staves or even better an ageing barrel. Or go online. Kegland

Oak chips and nut wood chips are fine, don't use the fruit wood chips as these are from trees that have been sprayed with pesticides multiple times a year, not good for your health in the long run.
Do a lot of reading on how to use the chips and how much to use...staves are available on line but they do cost some coin...Good luck
