DVW70, can you tell me more about that flat lid on the stock pot??

I either have to make a seal for my stock pot (I have been using flour dough which works fine but takes extra work and leaves a mess which doesn't go down well around the yard, doesn't make my lady happy) or, it would probably be easy to use a flat plate like you have done. Certainly it would be simpler and better to put the fittings onto a flat surface.

I suppose your Muggles is made from beer mugs. How did you get the bottoms out? And how did you seal the column?

Thank you... I built it several years ago with remninant copper from a plumbing job...and the 8gal milk can came from milehi, which they no longer carry...

My rig, column, 2" copper with about 30" of packing. I have been making whiskey, so a low reflux kinda short column works for me.
