I read a blog article recently about a pre prohibition distiller who had a really unique method of triple pot distilling rye whiskey, and recycling feints. The image below is a diagram of the process. The same distillery also would load their whiskey onto steam ships and send it from Baltimore to Brazil, and then back for aging. The thought was that being tossed about at sea was advantageous in the aging process. There's nothing new under the sun.

I just downloaded the article and the scheme.
I could not yet get the streams figured out. But maybe that is a matter of experience and practice. Trial and error, repeat and repeat again.
But I doubt if I ever see the need for trying to find out. I rather find an uncontrollable path myself, I guess.

I don't understand where is the relation between the 2.5 distillation scheme of Springbank in Scotland and pre prohibition triple distilling in the USA? Why is this graphic in this article?

On a side note this thread had me go back and re-look at my definition I posted for low wines. I took a commonly accepted definition "a product produced by the first distillation" which is not correct if your first and only run is a spirit run. Thus I changed it to "the product produced from a stripping run".
Again a little off topic but if you disagree or have a better definition pm me so we don't get this thread off topic.
