I've been shopping around for parts for my pot still and I've run into a few small questions in the process. For reference, I am planning to construct this guy's still. First off, While shopping for the 90 degree copper elbows, I came across two separate kinds and I'm not sure which would be the better choice. Both are C x C but one is described as "close rough" and the other as "intermediate radius". The direct links for the curious:

What's the big difference and how do they affect the still? Will one or the other even make a significant difference?
Secondly, this gentleman's directions call for 1 inch couplers. Am I to understand that these things are what I have located in the link below? The name is different but I'm assuming that's because the chap's an Englishman. And if this is indeed the part I am looking for would the "low-lead compliance" really be safe for stilling? I would think I'd want copper without any lead!

Re: Differences in copper elbows for pot still
this is the last line in your tutors part 1, ironic isn't it ?
NOTE: making alcohol is dangerous and can cause serious side effects,
you should read up on whats safe and not safe at http://www.homedistiller.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
as to your questions. there is no lead in modern copper plumbing pipe,
there can be lead in modern brass fittings
the 2 elbows are 2 different radii.
follow your tutors advise and read here.
edited to add instead of couplers you can use a 3way T.
that info is on HD.

Re: Differences in copper elbows for pot still
Its not really a great example of good pot still construction, The skinny length of piping before the condenser will be prone to bending/ cracking/ breaking as time goes by.
I think you could find a sturdier and less problem prone design if you have a quick look around the forum.
