I think each side of the jig could be a 1X3 (trimmed on edge to give the 2X2 inside dimensions). Then attach the pieces to make the box with open ends.

Great jig. On bottom of box what does it have wrote..."??? Pipe flush with bottom of box"...does it say 2ft. Can't quite make it out.

the box says "set pipe flush with bottom of box" this is because for a while I was building boka heads that allowed people to just slip couple 2" sections of pipe onto them to make there own boka

The box was assembled out of 1" x 3" pine and made to fit the pipe tight enough to almost force it over the pipe
