Absolutely no need to weld... my silver soldered keg connections are all holding up just fine ;) Only a tad harder than copper-copper. Just read the tutorials here, get the right flux (Harris Stay Clean works great for everything), and make sure you clean and tin everything well.

I have a hole for the heater element and that's it. When I finish a run I hand truck it out in the yard and tump it over. oh.....Tump is Southern for "tip over" :) When empty I rinse with a garden hose then drain n dry inverted on a couple of 4x4s. Havent noticed a need for anymore holes in the keg. Ocaisonally I slosh around some Winebottle cleaner in it. The boiling mash does my sterilizing :ewink:

Just an update on Discovery Valves - my valve came in last week, it's a monster. It weighs over a pound and is about the size of my palm. Still works fine to control the flow, it just looks massive hanging off the end of the boka's 1/4" tubing outlet. At least it's only SS & teflon. Just a forewarning to anyone concerned about aesthetics.
