Questions on Mile Hi Type cm column.

Ok Guys....first of all don't frag me...I do read everything I can get my hands on and I haven't found the straight out answer to this anywhere. In the mile Hi type reflux columns with the (can looking) reflux condenser on the column....is there a coil in the can or is it merely a tank like can...a (soup can if you will) in which the water flows through ? Second question here....if in fact it is a tank like can ...in place of that what do you guys think of 3/8" ID 1/2" OD tube wound tight around the outside of the column and soldered to it.....I have a certain look I am looking to achieve and the coil on the outside would set it off sorta speak. Any input?
