not finding a straight answer.
So I'm buying all the things I need to build a boka, and I'm down to the valve. I just need to know if this valve would work and if everything is ss and ptfe.
Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 24&alt=web" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
I googled it and tried to dl the pdf but wouldn't work on my phone. If someone could clear this up for me it would be wonderful. Thank you!

Not familiar with it but it has a 316 stamp which should mean it is stainless. I have not built with needle valves but on another thread it was mentioned that 1/2" was OD which means a 3/8" pipe.

Re: not finding a straight answer.
I'd use it.
From the search I did. It has a PTFE Stem Seal and the rest is stainless.
If used on copper tubing, I'd replace the SS compression ferrules with copper so the tubing isn't crushed to much when tightening.
Edited Posting while bushman was. the hand wheel was nylon, but that don't matter.

I have that valve on my 3" Boka. It's great.

Re: not finding a straight answer.
Frunobulax, is that a 1/2" dia. reflux coil on your 3" Boka? I have some 1/2" and was wondering if it could be wound tight enough for 3" pipe.

Re: not finding a straight answer.
The reflux coil is a Dad300 coil. It's 1/2" stainless gas tubing which can be bought at Home Depot and it DOESN'T get ANY EASIER to wind!!! (I wound a copper double for my 2" Boka)
There's alot of threads on it, just get the commercial stuff (without the fittings on the end) which comes in a kinda big roll. The stuff I didn't use came in handy as an
immersion chiller! Here's a couple threads to get ya started. Mine is like Hound Dogs, without the site glass' and plate on the bottom.

Lead free brass needle valves will suffice just fine...
and can be purchased for a few dollars each... will work just fine for the slow boka ride....

The 1/2" is what you need if you are building a 3". Like Bushman said, it's really 3/8" pipe or 1/2" coiled tubing. But since a 3" is not all that slow (for a boka) you need the size. Mine will spit out a quart in 15 minutes at full strength or run much faster to just strip.
Also to the DAD300 condenser!

Mines 2.5" so should I use 1/2" or would that be to tight?Hound Dog wrote:The 1/2" is what you need if you are building a 3". Like Bushman said, it's really 3/8" pipe or 1/2" coiled tubing.
