Odd thing is happening now, the center plate is flooding and running the plate below it dry. It appears that the vapor is blowing up through the downcomer and not letting distillate return. I kill the power for a moment and it will drain back down but it fills right back up when resuming. Odd.

Hound Dog, do you think you might be at the end of the run? It sounds like you're near the bottom of the tank (boiler).

BtW, great looking flute.

You are right SS. It was the end of the run. I didn't expect that reaction thogh. I fiddled with it a bit and was getting tails. Out of 13.5 gallons of low wines, I added another 3 gallons of water. I didn't check % but the usually puts me around 35%. I pulled just over a gallon in fores and heads and then got it pretty consistent for 3 gallons at 170 proof. Then messing with the flooding plate, another half gallon and then I collected a gallon of tails.

I will cut the three gallons down to 130 proof. That should fill a corney keg I have coming from Ebay on Tuesday. Throw in some oak sticks and stick it in the corner for a while.

Next up is some sweet feed. Don't think I will get it done before vacation though.

Yup, bottom plate unloading is a strong sign of tails.
