Wash fermentation air filter???

Post by IceStiller »

Hey first post.
background: got a 22l hot water vac-still with 80cm offset column. Been doing this fore a couple of years now mostly low grade stuff but slowly perfecting my drink.

I was wondering if anyone of you have thought about putting some kind of air filtration on the wash to take away the smell.
I use a basic turbo yeast and sugar wash. Its fast and effective but i have to use a 2L bottle 3/4 filled with water as an air lock and it has a bad odor.

If you guys have any ideas I'm very interested in ideas and hopefully a very good one, the misses is getting very aggravated by the smell :?.
