I built myself a parrot. Pictures inside.

Aside from stills, much equipment is involved in the process of distillation.

I put this together with stuff that is all available at the local Lowes. I think it came out pretty good. I blocked the bottom of the 3/4" T by flattening a penny and then soldering it into a short piece of 3/4" then soldering the whole thing into the T.

I will be trying it out later this week when my next batch of sweetfeed is ready to distill. I can't wait!

Dont know why but I really like your leg setup. Nice build. Guess I am a fan of tripod leg systems. I almost did something similar for my second parrot.

Thanks a lot, I'm not sure if I like it yet or not. I had originally planned on soldering a stub into the bottom of the T and setting the whole thing in a block of hardwood. But then it seemed like everyone did that so I decided to go with this.

It is actually super stable, I'm just not sure if the little tubing looks right proportionally. But for now it works!

That it works is the most important part. One of our artist members may come along with suggestions, I think it looks good!

Liked yours so much, I took your idea and changed it enough to make it mine.
Thanx for the inspiration.

You put tour alcohol meter (hydrometer) in it. Gently. Then the distillate comes in through the funnel that is feed to the bottom of the main body. Where it fills it up and spills over then out the beak. The hydrometer floats in the liquid in the main body. It is so you can take proof readings as you are running.

aight.... so it will fill up the the pipe? i was just worried that it would block and back up once the spirit got to high in the pipe... is it hard piped into the inlet or does the output of the still just dump into a catch and from there it fills up the parrot from the bottom up?
