Darn good pump

Post by Blarney Stoned »

Luvin' this darn pump, folks.

model 9.5 950 gpm

Overkill possibly but I like having the odds in my favor. Way more than enough flow capacity to run an RC as well as a PC at the same time with ample head @ 13.7 ft.

Comes with screens on the scavenge side as well. Handy when pumping out a fermenter loaded with floaters. Read here a few times where folks were inquiring about pump selection and thought I would share.

Uses standard garden hose fittings.

Is it this one: http://www.pondmasterstore.com/home/pm1 ... 0_gph.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Specs says:
950 gph (15.8 gpm) at discharge (no lift)
740 gph (12.3 gpm) at 3.0 foot lift
685 gph (11.4 gpm) at 5.0 foot lift
shutoff (no flow) at 12.8 foot lift

I'm wondering how you get "ample flow" at 13.7 feet.

Slight misprint on my part as I'm reading off the box, SS. Let me revise and say 475gph @ 10 feet. Apologies. I have two of these and haven't had hiccup in two years.

guys, ya gotta member that suction lift (how far a pump can suck water up verticly) is harder on a pump than discharge head(how far it can push water straight up). keep the pump in the water or lower than the level of your tank an you negate suction lift problems. then you only deal with how "tall" your rig is to the pump discharge so 475 gph at 10' would be ample flow for most rigs I've read about on site
