Hello All,
This is my second writing of this post...kinda hit the wrong button the first time. Ahem.
So I decided to get back into distilling due to a bad batch of mead that I couldnt see at least trying to save the alcohol...my name indicates my thriftiness..
I actually "Shined" in high school. I was taught by a man directly out of a FireFox book who was great to work with. He taught me to be careful, enjoy the quiet of the still and not be greedy, and to take pride in what I made. The language seems to have changed a bit but most things seem the same like "taking your starts to the stream", "using your nose and your fingers" and "saving your scrawny puppies for a rainy day...so you could make a big dog"
The only piece of my still I have left is a handblown german glass condenser. Its a sweet piece and I have had many offers for it, but I like it too much. Been looking at the reflux still and laughing cause we used to use a thumper type setup. I would like to try one out.
Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself....I think I might be hanging out here for a little bit.
