Peach pie (m00nshine)

Post by sizzlnchef 1 »

Hi I'm Mike from PA. Just made my first batch of apple pie and is it good. Was wondering if there is a recipe for peach or blueberry?

Welcome to the HD forum, sizzln!

Haven't tried it myself but a lot of people are raving about the simple Strawberry Panty Dropper recipe and I was thinking of doing it with blueberries myself.

Give the search feature on the site some use and you will likely be rewarded - just did a search for "blueberries" and got 68 hits!

Would love to have a recipe for peach. My apple is a little cloudy what did I do wrong? Also do I have to seal the jars like canning and do I have to refrigerate the apple pie after its done?

Iv found that yes as it does not "spoil" but does oxidize? and ends up with a off flavor.

My buddy gave up his recipe the other day for a bottle of my Carolina bourbon. :) He may have gotten the better end of the bargain since the recipe is dead simple.

He says, Peel a fresh ripe peach, pit it, and slice it into 1/4" slices. (prolly easier if you pit it, slice it and then peel the skin off the slices) .
Put a toothpick or two through the slices to hold 'em together and place in a 1 qt mason jar. Add a 1 inch peice of cinnimon stick. Disolve 1/3 of a cup of sugar (mix brown and white) into a pint of your best white dawg, and pour that into the mason jar, then top off with plain white dawg. Let sit for at least 3 months.

We talked about a few freeze/thaw cycles the get all the peach flavor out quicker ... he said, " maybe, but did you ever hear the story about the two bulls standing up top of the hill overlookin a herd of cows?, The young bull turns to his dad and says , "dad, lets run down there and screw one of them cows.", and Dad says "no son, lets walk down there and screw e'm all "." .... (I think I walked into that one)

The jar he gave me a while back was 10 years old. (I call it the heirloom) ...very tasty!

Usually use Apple cider and Apple juice for Apple pie. Searching should turn it up.

If you try it with 180, let us know how it turns out. I am curious my self.

I want to finish my still and start my christmas runs really soon, so I have some palatable swill for holiday drinking and gifts.

bring it down to a max of 50%/100proof. Especially if your gifting....Don't want our loved one's getting hurt or caught off guard,,,,,,or worse.
