Hello all.

Postby forcrz6 » Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:39 am

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. My name is Dave and it is nice to meet you all. I have no Still or anything for the more "Extravagant" spirits at this time. I only make my own home beer right now, but i would like to "Upgrade" to something that the wife and I can both enjoy as she prefers a Certain Tennessee gentleman, as well I. Right now I am just reading and looking around as to what needs to be done before anything else, so no questions at this point. (Noob forums are the best). I hope to see you all around.

Welcome bloke!

While your reading and coming upto to speed you'll notice a change in your outlook!

You'll never look at copper as just plumbing, obtaining a keg becomes a sole focus for a week or so, your in hardware stores looking at pond pumps.

You start brushing up on soldering skills, your partner starts to look bored as you bounce around a few ideas!

Congrats your hooked like the rest of us...Enjoy!

cheers
dave

Welcome Dave. There is plenty here to spend time reading and looking around. I think I was on the forum for maybe a month before I knew enough to even formulate a sensible question. The "Parent Site" link at the top of the page can keep you busy reading for a good long time. Be aware, though, that while the theory parts are quite good some of the still designs and recipes are a bit outdated. As a beer maker you bring a good knowledge of the fermentation process and that gives you a leg up.

Ok I'm sorry. I know I found it on here but did not bookmark it. Now when I do a search I get that my search has returned too many results and can not be displayed.

There is 1 post that gives 3 or 4 links to White oak Barrels, and they were really good prices. Can someone tell me the name of this thread or the link please?
