Hello from Honduras

Postby Moscca » Mon May 14, 2012 5:34 am

Hello,

I have been playing for more then a year with the idea of making Rum.
Did some research on the internet and it looked more complicated then I thought.
Just finished building my house, I live in Honduras, gives me the time, but it was
this web side that persuaded me.
What a tremendous amount of information !!
I'm planning to buy the Essential Extractor PSII high capacity - Complete Distiller.
Will this distiller in the Pot Distillation configuration be ok for rum ?
I like the two piece column idea, because later on I would like distill other spirits.

Thanks everybody for this fantastic web side !

Welcome to the forum, I believe that is a brewhaus still and have heard good reports about their products. You might do a search on this site for that still and see what others that own it say. We also have extensive threads on building your own but not sure what the availability of materials are in your area!

Welcome aboard.

Give the cm mod link in my signature a read through. It will give you some more info on that still. Pay close attention to the mods that BR mentions that Brewhaus will do before they ship it. They are worth the extra money.

Good luck be safe take your time.

I own the 3" high capacity, have made the mods, and love the still. Welcome to the brotherhood.

Hello Bayou-Rouler,

I've been reading with great interest your modifications on the Essential Extractor PSII high capacity by Brewhause.
Can you tell me what specific modifications I should ask for to have a better rum distillation unit.
I did send a mail to Rick from Brewhaus and he was asking just what changes I wanted.
It's all new to me and I want to make sure to get the best one I can buy.
Later on I will build my own one, Tig-welding is no problem for me, based on my expertise and the hugh amount of
info on this forum.Thanks.
