Greetings from your northern neighbour

Post by waydowntown »

Hey everyone
I 'm really happy to join the discussion here. Hope to post lots in the future and learn from all of you. And to any Canucks out there, drop me a message, I really need some affirmation I'm not the only one making shine up here.

I am relatively new to this but stepped into this with some ambition. I'm running a 10 gallon pot still a la 'copper moonshine stills' and really eager to make some good ryes and bourbons - and will try anything else at least once. But first I need to nail down the fundamentals...So I am here to learn and build upon all the great input here.

I toyed with the idea of making my first still but got a little overwhelmed after just making this crazy cook-top for brewing and distilling (I am not sure what to really call it). Runs hot enough to burn a hole in the sun is what I tell my friends. I like taking things a bit over the top...

Welcome, northern neighbor!

Funny, living in the mid-Atlantic region, I wouldn't question anyone being northern or southern from my perspective. Both seem likely.

But I was born way up in the U.P. of Michigan, north of some of the southern Canadians.
