Hello From Michigan
Hello,
I am a little over a year into distilling and have been using a small five gallon pot still. I have made a couple decent single malts, but have really taken a liking to working with gin. I have experimented my way into making a pretty good gin with a wheat mash based neutral. I do love the flavor of the pot still, but I do not enjoy the multiple runs I have been doing to get a decent neutral. I have toured these forums now and then, but decided to join as I have started researching for my next still and thought I could get some advice from more advanced gin makers.
I am looking to get a reflux still with a gin basket to speed up my run times a little and potentially let me try some sugar washes. At this point I am leaning towards a purchase over a build, but am still collecting plans as well in the event I want to take on the project.
I look forward to getting involved with the community

Thanks - I have been planning the upgrade for two months and, due to being an overplanner to a fault, will probably plan until fall before taking initiative. That will give me plenty of time to research all the tried and true on here.

Cheers, BloodMoses, welcome!
Shouting and shooting, I can't let them catch me...
Re: Hello From Michigan
Welcome! I left Michigan at a fairly early age, but I remember the winters. Snow high enough that kids weren't allowed to play in it alone. If you got lost, you were gone till spring, when the floods came.
