Hello from western PA!

Post by Huffy2k »

Hello all, long time lurker, first time back in awhile. I learned a LOT of critical knowledge from this forum back in the day, what a great resource for novice and experienced distillers alike! We've had a legal craft distillery for the past 14 months and I thought I'd pop in now and then to both continue to learn and maybe give a little back for all the help I've gotten here over the years!

Cheers! Jim

Started home distilling about 15 years ago with a 10 gallon Georgia Ridge from Colonel Vaughn Wilson! Decided to make a go of it about 5 years ago and opened our doors last July. We are a whiskey only distillery called Liberty Pole Spirits in Washington PA, home of the whiskey rebellion! We have a 300 gallon pot still from Trident Stills in Maine. It's been an interesting first year, some ups and some downs but we've learned a lot. Can see light at the end of the tunnel, hope it's not an incoming train!

I'm glad to see you on here! I didn't know if you had a stealth account on here or not. You know who I am. :)

For everyone else: If you have a chance to visit Jim try the peated bourbon and Cask strength rye. All his stuff is great, but those two in particular stand out.

Hi Jim. Nice distilling scene in Washington and that burgh to the north. I'm with Yinzer, your rye and peated bourbon are tasty. I'll be back, maybe on my next trip to see the kids.

Hi Jim, I sort of already did, but I'll do it again!

About a month ago (maybe 2?) my wife and I stopped in for our first visit. I had a nice conversation with Ellen back in the tour tasting room and then with you at the bar.

Salut!
